A zinc deficiency in the diet has, on occasion, been blamed for causing tinnitus. However, the jury is still out on this particular reason for the condition because it has never been conclusively proven through scientific research to be a contributing factor for causing the affliction. Some people however swear by this antidote and make zinc supplements a regular part of their daily diet.

A regular exercise routine has proven to be a very effective strategy for some sufferers. This doesn’t have to be a complex regimen because all you really need to do, as the TV commercial says, is just do it.

The best approach is to find some physical activity you love to do and make it a part of your daily routine. It may be as simple as going for a brisk walk for an hour each day or as complicated as going to the gym and working out on the various apparatus for 60 minutes every day.

Ginkgo biloba, an herbal remedy, has been accepted in some circles as having provided tremendous benefits for some people suffering with tinnitus. While others disagree as to its positive effects, I guess the main point here is if it works for you make it a part of your overall strategy for treating the condition.

Anti inflammatory medication, such as aspirin, has been known to aggravate tinnitus symptoms so it may be wise to change to another type of pain reliever, which doesn’t contain ASA, when you get any type of nagging ache or pain.

Another home remedy thought to help ease the symptoms is stress reduction. Stressful situations can cause a ringing sensation in the ears which, of course, is one of the main indicators of tinnitus. This ear ringing is a defensive reaction by your body’s nervous system to the given situation.

Your diet, as discussed earlier, can be a contributing factor to tinnitus and by reducing or eliminating certain foods you may find some relief from your symptoms. Some of the main culprits, as with many conditions, are salt, caffeine, nicotine and alcohol.

There are as many different home remedies available as there are different causes for tinnitus and by experimenting to find what works best for you will hopefully lead to relief from your symptoms and a less stressful and a more comfortable day to day existence.
