Collodial Silver – A Natural Healer

The healing properties of silver have been known as far back as ancient Babylonian and Greek civilizations. Throughout history, silver has been used to disinfect water, prevent milk spoilage, and treat various diseases, infections, wounds, and burns. As recently as the 1930′s, American hospitals used silver nitrate in the eyes of newborn babies to protect against blindness in case the mother had a venereal disease.

Today advanced technology has provided us with a collodial silver solution that is touted to be highly effective against many common ailments ranging from acne to yeast infections. It has also been used in plants as a mold and fungi preventative and as an agent to prevent brown discoloration on fruits or vegetables. It also has many uses in veterinary medicine.

If all of this is true, and silver is very effective against so many maladies, why is it not being used more in modern medicine today? One reason that opponents cite against the use of silver is a condition called Argyria. Argyria occurs when large particles of silver are digested over an extended length of time, resulting in a permanent blue discoloration of the skin. However, there is no danger today of this happening today as long as you are using collodial silver that has been manufactured according to the FDA guidelines.

Another reason for its non-use is the discovery of various antibiotics from which pharmaceutical companies can make big money. Since CS is relatively inexpensive, easy to manufacture, and comes from a natural metal, the capacity to make a large profit from its sale is nonexistent. If a product does not have money-making potential, the drug companies want nothing to do with it.

Because I have used collodial silver to treat many conditions successfully, I am a firm believer in its healing properties. It does not have the adverse effects on the body as does antibiotics. The body does not build up a resistance to collodial silver; therefore, it remains a viable solution for many health issues.

If you do in-depth research on the uses of collodial silver, you will find well over a hundred listed. I cannot attest to that many, but I can tell you for what I have successfully used CS.

A few weeks ago, my two-year old granddaughter was sent home from daycare with a swollen, painful, red eye. After I spoke with a nurse practitioner, she concluded that it was conjunctivitis or pink eye, since only one eye was involved. Both eyes would have been affected had it been an allergic reaction. The nurse practitioner stated that she needed antibiotic eyedrops and would need to see the doctor. Because it was several hours before we could see a doctor, I decided to try the miracles of CS. To make sure that it would not harm her, I first used the CS in my eye. There was no burning or discomfort; therefore, I concluded that it was safe to use in her eye. Before bedtime, the CS had been used twice in the affected eye. The next morning, the inflamed eye was much improved. Hardly any redness or irritation remained. After one more day of treatment with CS, the eye was perfectly healed. We saved a doctor’s fee and exposure to antibiotics–and that’s a good thing.

Another condition for which I have used CS successfully is for sinusitis. I put a two drops of CS in a small amount of distilled water and use a spray bottle to administer the mist. This should be used 3 times a day. The antibiotic properties of CS kill the germs and heal the inflamed sinus passages. However, BE AWARE, if your sinuses are very infected, this solution will burn. If you can stand the pain, it will take care of the problem.

Because I have diverticulosis, I have been plagued with bouts of diverticulitis. The accepted treatment for this infection is a ten-day round of antibiotics. However, I have found that when I start experiencing pain, bloating, and cramping which signal the onset of diverticulitis, I start taking a tablespoon of CS in the morning and one before going to bed. I swish the CS around in my mouth for several seconds before swallowing. This allows the solution to be absorbed sublingually. After 2 or 3 days, the symptoms subside, and the attack is averted.

From my limited experiences with CS, I find that it is a valuable alternative to high powered antibiotics in many cases; however, there is a time when a doctor is needed and prescriptive antibiotics must be taken. Collodial silver by no means takes the place of prudence when your health is at stake. Although CS may remedy many ailments, if a condition persists, a physician should be consulted.

I encourage anyone who is interested in alternative medicine and in preserving good health without the overuse of prescription antibiotics to consider the use of collodial silver. Do your own research; then make an informed decision. In many cases, the situation can be resolved without a doctor’s visit and without having to take potentially harmful drugs. Since the overuse of antibiotics in America has resulted in many strains of super bugs that are highly resistant to modern antibiotics, it behooves each of us to resist taking powerful antibiotics whenever possible. In that way, when we need the prescription antibiotics, our bodies will be more receptive to their healing properties.
