I will try my best to deliver these tried and tested tips. These are some of the best tips for acne I discovered during my years of combat against acne. After you read this article, the rest is up to you to work on the tips you learn.
Acne Prevention Tip # 1 – Sales hype and ineffective methods of treating acne.
I would first like to want you to know that most products on the market that claim to treat acne in just days don't really work as well as the manufacturers claim them to be. So now you can save your money from buying branded and expensive products. I know for a fact that price does not measure the effectiveness and quality of a product. These branded products are mostly expensive because of the advertising costs that they are associated with.
So no, price does not equate quality in this matter.
Acne Prevention Tip#2 – Dealing With Current Acne On The Surface Of The Skin
This is the first and very important step in treating your acne. Ignore other creams and lotions. Instead, you should use tea tree oil as the main topical acne treating regimen. One thing about tea tree oil is that it is highly effective on acne. Based on my personal experience, it is far superior than most products that cost you a fortune.
Acne Prevention Tip # 3 – Washing Your Face The Right Way
We all know hygiene matters a lot to acne. For this reason, you have to know the right way to wash your face. Washing your face too many times does not benefit much to your acne condition. If you are able to get this right, your acne will heal noticably quicker. Here are some tips to help you:
1. Don't wash your face more than 3 times a day.
2. Use an appropriate cleanser for your skin type. For example, if you have oily skin, it's okay to use a deep cleaning and oil removing cleanser. But it's never a good thing to use a moisturizing cleanser if you have oily skin because doing so will cause your skin to be more oily and might cause acne.
Acne Prevention Tip #4 – Aloe Vera Is Great For Acne.
Most acne causes your skin to look like volcanoes. When those zits are gone, they leave acne marks, or worse acne scars behind. So how can we deal with this matter without using any drugs and medications? We use aloe vera. Aloe vera works on acne by accelerating the healing process of the skin so your acne will clear up faster. It also flattens the swelling caused by acne while reducing the redness too.
Acne Prevention Tip #5 – Detoxification.
Detoxification is the best and quickest way to get rid of acne. This is because your skin is one of the last resort for detoxifcation of your body. When the main detoxifying organs – liver and kidneys are heavily burdened, your body relies on your skin to detox itself. Acne is one of the way to achieve this. Detoxification also has other significant benefits for acne.
Acne Prevention Tip #6 – Carrots.
Carrots contain tons of vitamin A. Vitamin A is essential for treating acne because the lack of this nutrient alone, can already cause acne. When vitamin A is consumed in a significant amount, such as those in carrots, it has the ability to cure acne effectively. Try carrots and you will be amazed by the results you get.
Getting rid of acne is easy if you just know what works and what works not. If I tell you that it is possible to cure your acne in just two months, without spending any money on medical treatment and products, would you believe me? You better be, because I am a living proof that shows it is possible to cure acne of any severity in just 2 months.

Are you taking flax seed oil or eating flax seeds? If you're not you should consider adding it to your diet as part of your acne treatment. Here's why!

Flax falls into the group called essential fatty acids (EFAs). It's great part of an acne treatment , especially for those who suffer from acne due to hormonal fluctuations and imbalance.
Most of us don't have enough EFAs in the foods we consume, I personally was put off by the word "fatty" and assumed it must be bad … I totally bypassed the word essential!
The main reason it helps hormonal acne is because it reduces the amount of the sex hormone androgens produced. This is the culprit that causes too much sebum to be produced, which clogs the pores and gives us the task of seeking out an acne treatment.
Increasing the amount of EFAs in your diet is also effective as part of your overall acne treatment for more reasons below:
- It makes the immune system stronger which means it can fight off bacteria and infection better.
- Reduces inflammation of your acne.
- Your skin condition and texture will improve.
- It will help your existing acne heal much quicker.
- It reduces the sebaceous glands size which will mean it's less likely to get clogged.
- It helps the skin retain moisture and stay hydrated.
- And for the ladies it can reduce the symptoms of PMT.
Look at just some of the benefits EFAs can bring to your acne treatment. If you haven't tried flax for increasing the amount of essential fatty acids in your diet then give it a go.
Personally, I find flax oil horrible and prefer to use seeds, sprouted flax seeds in particular as part of my acne treatment.
Here's why sprouted flax seed is better as part of an essential fatty acids acne treatment

Myths About Acne 1. Dirt is the culprit of acne
No! Dirt does not cause acne. Plugs in the follicle of the skin are the causes of acne. These plugs are formed when in the process of skin shedding, the dead cells mix with sebum and clog the pores of the skin. Extreme consciousness in washing and scrubs will do no help because dirt is not the reason for the presence of acne. These actions even increase the possibility of developing acne because they make the skin drier than usual.
Myths About Acne 2. Direct acne treatment is effective
No! Topical creams applied directly to the acne do not make them disappear. Since visible acne is 2-3 weeks old, they are difficult to treat with direct application of a cream. It is best to avoid the development of acne by preventive treatment of the whole face.
Myths About Acne 3. Only teenagers have acne
No! Usually, acne appears during teenage years because of hormonal changes. However, acne should not be ignored. If not treated properly, the acne may worsen and consequently result to acne scars, which are much more difficult to treat. It is good to treat acne at its early stages, before it can do permanent damage to the skin.
Myths About Acne 4. French fries cause acne
No! Actually, there is no solid evidence that certain foods are involved in the development of acne. Not even nuts or chocolates do harm to the skin. But a healthy diet boosts immune system that fights acne. Keep that in mind.
Myths About Acne 5. Cosmetics can cause acne
Maybe. If the chosen make-up is not "non-comedogenic", then acne development is more likely. Non-comedogenic products do not result to the clogging of pores. Make-ups should also be hypoallergenic and water-based to prevent any adverse reactions of the skin.
Myths About Acne 6. Sweating prevents acne
No! Too much exercise can stimulate sebaceous glands of the skin to produce more oil, which when mixes with perspiration and heat worsens the already existing acne.
Myths About Acne 7. The sun can help acne
Not really. Little sun exposure can help acne. But too much exposure under the sun can make the skin dry and shed dead cells faster. More dead cells result to more clogged pores. More clogged pores will result to more acne break-outs.
Myths About Acne 8. Facial scrubs and toners work
No! Scrubs usually tear skin tissue thus resulting to increased probability of bacterial infection and blemishes. Also, toners with contents of alcohol leave the skin dry and stimulate the sebaceous glands to secret more oil that can clog pores and produce acne. Small-grained scrubs and alcohol-free toners are advisable.
Myths About Acne 9. Acne can be cured
Not at the moment. Although it is not curable, acne can be treated. Treatments only improve the conditions but will not totally eliminate the occurrence of Acne. The best treatment is prevention. But if the acne has appeared, treatments given by certified dermatologists should be taken.

Sorry ladies!
In a new study dermatologist Julie C. Harper, MD, FAAD, associate professor of dermatology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala., and her colleagues at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, surveyed a random sample of men and women aged 20 and older to determine the prevalence of persistent acne that continued after adolescence or new adult-onset acne.
A total of 1,013 men and women aged 20 years and older at the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus and medical complex were asked to complete a one-page questionnaire designed to evaluate the prevalence of acne in adults across various age groups. Survey questions gauged whether the participant had ever had acne or pimples, including during their teens or later in life (in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s or older). The survey also asked participants to judge whether their acne had become better, worse or stayed the same since their teenage years.
