There’s no cure and there’s no vaccine and a staggering 1 Million people in the USA alone have it.
That’s the shocking reality about HIV, the heartbreaking human immunodeficiency virus that leads to AIDS.
Though treatment has advanced considerably to allow those with the disease to live longer, fuller lives, the fact remains that there is no cure.
That’s why prevention is so essential to reducing the numbers of those infected and stemming the spread of HIV.
According to the Center for Disease Control 1 million infected people live in the United States, and one out of four of those is unaware.
How could that be?
Simple. It can take from seven to 10 years for symptoms to manifest themselves. Can you imagine the impact HIV will have in the coming years?
There is a simple blood test that if taken 3 months after exposure can show with about 90% certainty if someone is infected. If you are in doubt – get the test.
